Week Nine, Oct. 17th-23rd.

My week was terrible. I was so sick. I lost my voice and my throat hurt real bad. I didn’t go to a few classes. I only went when I had an exam and to my lab. This was all bad. I don’t like falling behind. It’s so hard to get all caught up. I’m already not doing so hot, so this is really hurting me. Time to step up my game!

Update on knee: So I have a plica. I don’t really know how to explain it, but basically my knee is irritated. I’ve been taking it easy on lacrosse and everything. I’ve been going to physical therapy and working on strengthening it. I can’t wait to get better!

I’ve been juggling between PACURH and the lacrosse tournament. PACURH is the college conference that I was chosen to be a delegate for. The lacrosse tournament is hosted by WSU and it’s the first chance to actually play other schools pre-season. They’re on the same weekend. November 5th. I chose lacrosse. I went into the RHA office on Thursday to talk to the guy in charge about discontinuing my delegation. I think I did the right thing. Jessica and I were going to just stop going to the meetings and drop, but we were responsible and respectfully went to talk about it personally. I only wish we did it earlier. Either way, I can’t wait to play in the tournament! Lacrosse is why I’m here at WSU.

This weekend had been a pretty emotional one. I should of went home, but instead I stayed on campus. It was such a ghost town. I was missing everyone. Especially my best friend, Austin. The one thing I absolutely hate about wrestling is that I have to let him go for the season. Well, I don’t have to. But I was trained how to be around wrestlers. He has a purpose and doesn’t need distractions in accomplishing his goals. Wrestling is such a tough sport. I love it. It’s definitely my favorite. Every wrestler amazes me and I know Austin is going to go far and do great things. I can’t go to him with my every problem because he needs to focus. I care so much about my wrestlers. I miss the ones back home. I can’t wait to go visit during season.

Other than that, on Friday I did ALL my chores. I literally took everything out of my closets and drawers and reorganized. I even changed my bed sheets. Then I hung out with my Alive orientation pal, Zach! We watch Paul and made Mac and Cheese. Saturday, I was a hermit all morning then Jessica bought my friendship back with DQ. We later went over to Alyssa’s where I met her friends. Today, I just relaxed in my dorm all day. I should of done homework.

This week I am stepping up my game. Reality check. I need to get better study habits! Then it’s Halloween weekend. It’s gonna be good time ;D

GO COUGS!

Week Eight, Oct. 10-16.

Monday…I was embarrassing myself from left to right. First, I went to my 9AM math class. I walked in the class and saw lights off and chairs on the table. Apparently we didn’t have math on Columbus day. I went to the CUB and chilled there for my 10AM class. When I went to that class I didn’t buckle my backpack. The strap got caught in the door crack and I did that awkward flinging back motion. Major embarrassment haha Overall, the week went by really fast.

Friday, we had game night! It was so much. The pals and I got together. We got food and played board games all night. Jacob and I are so much alike. We’re always the two that’s eating and snacking on food. I love boardgames with a large group of people, it gets super intense! Later that night Boni, Michelle, Sara, Kaiden, and Chris showed up from Vancouver! Boni and Sara stayed with me.

Saturday, we had breakfast at Southside. The we were going to ride green bikes to Crimson and Gray, but we couldn’t get enough bikes. It was a fail. Then Courtney came to visit too!! My WASC sister. We literally haven’t seen each other for EXACTLY a year!! She had to put up with my crazy friends haha We went to the WSU-Stanford game. WSU was doing so well in the first half, 7-10. Then I don’t know what happened…14-44. Courtney left after the game. Boni, Michelle, and I went out on Greek Row for the first time. Sara stayed in the dorm and slept, she wasn’t feeling well. I had such a fun night!!! It was interesting. So many good memories for sure. Except I’m kind of sick before we went out and when we came back my voice is completely gone. It’s even scratchy right now.

Sunday, we ate breakfast and they got ready to leave back to Vancouver. I said my good byes and came in my dorm to do homework. I had no motivation. I caught up on shows then decided to do math. Afterwards, I went to eat pho with Christian, Jessica, Cammie, and Jacob. It was aright. We came back and watched Bridesmaid in Jessica and Cammie’s room. Then Hunter skyped me for the first time (ever on skype). I miss my baby brother. The Resident’s Hall internet isn’t working, so I’ve been using the hotspot from my phone. It’s not as fast, but at least it works. Bridesmaid was so funny, I’m going to have to watch it again to catch the parts I missed.

Now, I am just studying for my biology exam tomorrow. I don’t feel ready at all. I totally bombed my first one and I am not confident with this one. I study 30 hours a week…I need to figure out different study methods. Time to hit up the mentors! I’ll be going home next weekend.

GO COUGS!

Happy Birthday Jessica M. Wells :)

After Lax practice…SHOWER PARTY :D

My day with Dakota :)

9.8.11

Week Seven, Oct. 3rd-9th.

I’ve been such a slacker at posting the last two updates on Sunday. I apologize.

Last week went by so fast, I don’t even remember what happened. I left Pullman on Thursday evening to come home for the weekend. I got to Vancouver about one am. It was such a long drive and I stayed awake the whole time. We went in Kendrick’s car, Nate drove and brought along his Ridgefield Spuddies. Oh my goodness, we didn’t stop for gas in the tri-cities and the gas light came on. We forgot that Oregon pumps your gas for you and the places we were driving through all closed. We crossed over to Washington early and STILL couldn’t get gas. We finally made it to Washougal and got gas. Thank goodness. Friday, I went to the school and visited a few friends and teachers. Heritage got super strict. But I still got around with my sneaky ways. I felt so bad. When I walked through Water’s old classroom and this kid goes, “is this a short cut?” and my automatic response, “are you a freshmen?” Oh man, I’m silly. I basically spent the whole day doing math, like what I’d usually be doing in the dorm on a Friday night. I finished before midnight and I wanted YoCream! I didn’t know anyone else that would want to go to YoCream at 11 pm, so I hit my pal Dakota Kerns. We went to YoCream and stayed there til closing. Later, went to Jenn’s and watched Transformers and ended up falling asleep. Went back to Vancouver the next morning. I didn’t sleep at all. Got ready for the day and went to pick up Dakota again to go shopping. I don’t know why we spent literally four hours shopping and I didn’t get anything…what a disappointment. It was a fun day in downtown Portland though. Later was the wedding. Teresa is such a beautiful bride. Her and Tam were so gorgeous. Our table were super hungry, we demolished the food when it arrived. We left after she cut the cake around 9. Sara and I went and got Boni then we went to Michelle’s and chilled for a bit. We got hungry again and went to Ihop. I was so exhausted. I was falling asleep while eating my pancakes! Sunday, I went to church. It was nice to see everyone. I love Sunday school with Brother and Sister Collier, they’re one of the best teachers ever! I left Relief Society early to go pick everyone else up and head back to Pullman. Got on campus around eight. What a trip. I won’t be home until Thanksgiving.

School is going alright. I need to pick it up and start studying for more exams.

Lacrosse is going well also. My physical therapy for my knee is probably going to end faster than we anticipated because it’s healing up pretty fast. Yayy!! I just have to keep doing the exercises. I got practice jersey #4! It made my day. I’m working on my knee so i can play 100% again!

This week is Homcoming week. It’s going to go by fast also. I can’t wait to see all my friends that are coming up for the game on Saturday!! There’s also so much do to for my classes, government, and PACURH. I better get back on task!

GO COUGS!

Week Six, Sept. 26-Oct. 2nd

Monday, I had my knee appointment. I strained my meniscus (MCL). However, I can still play lacrosse as long as I got to physical therapy 1-2 times a week for four months…and ice/heat after every physical activity. Yay…! Lacrosse is going well. We scrimmaged against University of Idaho on Tuesday it was a fun experience. They have a lot of new learning players.

Government is going well also. I came up with a few ideas for the Street Fair. The Plex is going to WIN! I won’t reveal what we’re doing until Homecoming week which is next week. PACURH, we made rocks. They’re really cute.

Classes are going well. I really like my English class even though it’s basically a repeat of Lit and Lang. But, since it’s all review for me, I actually enjoy the class. Our teacher is so funny. She’s a bit odd, but still hilarious. One day after class I walked with her and we had a whole conversation. I am such a nerd :)

This weekend was crazy. I will just copy paste my weekend update I had with Nick Robinson on Facebook: “I was a hermit on Friday night. I had a math assignment due online at midnight, so I spent most of the night doing that! I went over to Kendrick’s for a bit. Everyone else stayed there to watch a movie and I came back to my dorm to sleep lol This weekend was General Conference, I’ve told you about it, do you remember? I missed the morning session so I watched the afternoon session. I did some homework. It was my friend Jessica Wells birthday this weekend! Saturday night, we went to the movies and saw Moneyball. It was really good! I liked it! On Sunday, I missed the morning session of GC again, but I watched the afternoon. However, before I went to breakfast with Jessica. Then after I finished watching the conference, I went to Moscow Mall (it’s REALLY small) with Marissa Barlow, who is my roommate btw, and Kendrick. I was looking for a dress to take back home this next weekend for Teresa’s wedding. I didn’t find anything and got yoga pants, perfume, and nail polish lol they had really good sales! We came back to our dorm. While Christian, Jacob, Ken, and ken’s roomie, Mitchell took Jess out to dinner, Marissa and our friend Alyssa made cupcakes for Jessica!! (See pictures posted) Then we all went to Ken’s and threw her a little party. Sang happy birthday. Ate cake. Played catch phrase.”

I have a math exam tonight. I definitely do no feel prepared for it. I have an A- in the class right now, so it’s not that bad. This weekend is going to go by fast. I’ll be home next weekend for Teresa’s wedding!! In the meantime, I have to study…

GO COUGS!

Week Five. Sept. 19-25

Monday, September 19th was my anniversary for my baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was such a special day to me. I thanked everyone that helped me get involved in the church. It’s a blessing to have the people that I do in my life.

I had my first bio exam. I totally bombed it. First failure result of college. 48%. I called my dad crying. Except, the quiz we had on the lab I missed, I got a 97% on it. I just suck at exams so much. I knew every concept on the test, I just didn’t know the right answer. Time to study it up!

Tuesday. We had our first lacrosse practice. WOOOOO WHOOOO!! Except, I messed up my knee really bad to the point that I couldn’t even walk without there being a sharp pain. It’s the right knee. I have an appointment tomorrow at the Heath and Wellness center to get it checked out. I want it to get better so I can start playing again!! I don’t want to be THAT girl…

My week wasn’t that great. I was pretty down for most of it. Then Friday came! The boys left for Eastern Washington for Trevor’s birthday. The girls stayed behind and we had a girls night!! We out to eat, movies, snacks, games!! It was fun! Can’t wait for more of those nights. The rest of my weekend was chill. Consisted of a lot of studying. I have my Gen Ed exam tomorrow. We have a room for hall government and we’ve been cleaning it up. Oh my goodness, it’s SO messy. It’s coming along though. I hope we get it done by homecoming.

Saturday, September 24th will always be remembered. RIP Mr. Sperline. And Happy BIrthday Kyle Patrick Miller.

Right now, Marissa is serenading me. She’s so weird. I love my roommate. We’re just super hyper. I am playing Pottermore while we study for our exam aloud. I’m so ready to kill this thing! This week will be better than last. It’s one more week closer to visiting home!! There won’t be another home football game until homecoming. I can’t wait!

GO COUGS!!!!

Week Four, Sept. 12-18.

This week was a rough start. I had my first math exam on Monday. It was pretty easy. I basically don’t do much during the week except for studying. I study up to 30 hours a week!!! HOWEVER, this weekend, I went home to see a few of the besties. It was Teresa’s bacholarette party!!

Friday, loaded up the cars and left Pullman around 1. I got dropped off at YOCREAM at 7ish. I hung out with my YoTeam until Sara came and got me. Sara and I always end up doing random, unnecessary errands…then we went to Sam Sam’s. Man oh man. What a night. We did a whole bunch challenges…we tried eating bread in thirty seconds. What a fail. Then we broke into two teams. Me, Sam Sam, and Teresa. Sara, Michelle, and Melody.

First challenge. Eat a banana. Melody vs Sam Sam. Winner? Melody.

Second challenge. Rooster sauce in a pho spoon and it has to be licked clean. Me and Michelle. Winner? Me :D

Third challenge. Miracle Whip in a pho spoon, licked clean. Sara and Sam Sam. Winner? SAM SAM!

Fourth challenge. Gatorade chug. Teresa vs Michelle. Winner? Michelle.

Fifth challenge. Sneak into Evin’s room in the dark, find his boxers, wear it and run out (without waking him up!) Melody and Teresa. Winner? Teresa.

Right now it’s tie…last challenge. Who can eat the most raw eggs? Me and Sara….winner…Sara. I say it was rigged! Because my fifth egg was FROZEN! I ate four and she had five.

What a night. Then watched Wrong Turn II. It was alright. In the morning, breakfast was made by Teresa, Michelle, and Sam Sam. PANCAKES! With nutella, strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream. YUMMM.

I finally went home and got ready for the day. We went shopping downtown. Oh how I miss Portland. I wish I bought some clothes while I was there…next time! We went to eat at a Brazilian restaurant. It was yummy. So expensive though! After dinner, we split up. I spent the rest of the night with Michelle, Sara, and Melody. We went to Jake’s and chilled. Then Sara and I went to my house to pack and get ready.

My morning was HECTIC! We literally rolled out of bed to load up the car when Jessica came by. Then I had to go to the boys’s houses to pick up stuff for them. I also went by the church and got a special blessing from Marissa’s dad. Sara and I went to Cascade Station to meet up with Jessica again. We went into Sports Authority to get stuff for lacrosse. Then we headed out for school. We made back before four, but Jess yet again got a ticket hahahahaha!!

It’s great to be back in Pullman. I love going home and seeing the people there. I missed my family. I got to spend some time with my sisssta. They left in the morning the Race for the Cure. I can’t wait to go back for the wedding in October!!!!

This next week is going to be exciting, I lied in my last post. Lacrosse actually starts on Tuesday. Bio exam tomorrow. Then Gened next week. Lots of studying!!

GO COUGS!

Week Three.

This week wasn’t that great. Labor Day threw me off on my schedule! I missed a lab on Wednesday. I was greatly upset. We get one freebie lab and I happened to miss one that I’ve already done in AP Biology. If we miss two labs then our WHOLE grade drops to an F. I have to be on top of things! Christian reads to Marissa every night, it’s pretty cute. Except we’ve been staying up late reading that I wake up later in morning and get to class late. Unacceptable! I missed math on Friday and taught myself that section later that day. I went to a Pre-Health presentation and learned a few skills I can use for studying and time management. I made myself a time management chart! I put it into action right away. I spent four hours studying after classes on Friday and did ALL my homework, so I wouldn’t have any during the weekend.

Saturday, was our second football game! It was another Cougar win. The weather was so hot that I was sweating SO much. We left after the half time show. Later that night, I DD. Man, it’s scary. I hate driving so much because I know I’m not a very good driver, but I got everyone home safely. Today, I spent my whole time in my dorm. I left around six to go eat dinner. I missed the tie dying party. I guess I’ll just get creative with my t-shirt myself. It’s hard to keep my standards up here. I’m going to have to start living at the institute in order to survive. I miss my ward family. I miss the support at home. Everyone is scattered. I don’t know what I would do without my best friends helping me through my situations.

This week, I’m going to concentrate on having a better week. Lacrosse is starting on Tuesday and I am very excited!! Also, I didn’t win RHA, but I am secretary (once again…) it’s okay though because now I’m pro at my position. I can’t wait to run for ASWSU, that’s the big goal. I’m still in debate for BYU or staying here. Academically, I choose WSU. However, BYU is where my scene is at and I can live more righteously. Either way…
